"Alaska? Come on, man. I don’t know if there's any black people in Alaska."
--Sean "Diddy" Combs

Another political commentator questions John McCain's judgment in picking Sarah Palin as his VP choice. [via Political Punch, Diddy Weighs in on Sarah Palin; Meghan McCain on Bristol]

Sean Combs (aka Diddy; aka Puff Daddy; aka Puffy) takes some time off from doing Proactiv® commericals to sound off on Sarah Palin:

"Attention John McCain, attention John McCain, my name is Diddy…I had to check in with you to tell you that you are bugging the f--- out. I don't even understand what planet you're on right now.! This is the job to be the leader of the free world.

"Ok, no disrespect. I love you. I want you to live to be 110, but things happen. What if, God forbid, you got a running mate, you become president -- Alaska? Alaska? Alaska? Alaska? Come on, man. I don’t know if there's any black people in Alaska.

"John, like, come on!"

"Sarah Palin? Yo, if you really think that we're gonna let you win this election with these, like, crazy, these crazy decisions that you're making, you're buggin'. "

Sarah Palin: Who is GOP VP Pick, Sarah Palin?

Who is Sarah Palin, John McCain's pick to be his running mate?

Soccer mom of five--the latest born in April--and a reformer, Palin played point guard while leading her basketball team to the state championship in high school.

Nicknamed "Sarah Barracuda", opponents and admirers alike say Palin is "tough".

Wikipedia has already updated Sarah Palin's bio page:

Sarah Louise Heath Palin (born February 11, 1964) is the current Governor of Alaska, and the presumptive 2008 Republican candidate for Vice President of the United States. She is expected to be the second female Vice Presidential nominee representing one of the two major American political parties.

Born in Idaho and raised in Alaska, Palin gained statewide recognition as a championship high school athlete and was the 1984 runner-up in the Miss Alaska pageant. After graduating from the University of Idaho and working as a sports reporter at an Anchorage television station, Palin served two terms on the Wasilla, Alaska, City Council from 1992 to 1996, was elected mayor of Wasilla in 1996, and ran unsuccessfully for Lieutenant Governor in 2002. After charging ethical violations by state Republican Party leaders, she won election in 2006 by first defeating incumbent governor Frank Murkowski in the Republican primary, then former Democratic Alaskan governor Tony Knowles in the general election.

On August 29, 2008, presumptive GOP nominee John McCain chose Palin as his nominee for vice president.

McCain's pick of Palin brings a lot to the GOP ticket. She's young, conservative, a soccer mom, energetic, pro-life and pro-gun.

Previous polls showed Alaska's three electoral votes in play between McCain and Democrat nominee, Barack Obama.

John McCain's pick cannot help but to excite some conservatives who were previously lukewarm toward McCain.

The two GOP picks will be in the Pittsburgh PA area tomorrow at a rally.

Sarah Palin is McCain's VP Choice

The AP is reporting that John McCain's running mate will be Sarah Palin, the reform-minded governor of Alaska and a former beauty queen.

Two GOP strategists close to the McCain campaign said all indications pointed to Palin, a self-styled "hockey mom" and political reformer. The strategists spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized by the McCain camp to discuss the matter. There was no confirmation from McCain or his advisers.

Palin is a first-term governor credited with reforms of her out-of-the-way state. Newly minted Democratic nominee Barack Obama is making an aggressive play for the traditional GOP stronghold and its three electoral votes, and polls show the race close.

At 44, Palin is younger than Obama and, like McCain, she calls herself a maverick.

McCain's pick will be announced at noon in Dayton OH. McCain and his VP pick will appear outside Pittsburgh at a rally on Saturday.

A Gulfstream IV from Anchorage, Alaska, flew into Middletown Regional Airport in Butler County near Cincinnati about 10:15 p.m. Thursday, said Rich Bevis, airport manager. He said several people came off the plane, including a woman and two teens, but there was no confirmation of who was aboard.

"They were pretty much hustled off. They came right down the ramp, jumped in some vans here and off they went," Bevis said. "It was all hush, hush."

Could Palin be the pick?

Or is this carefully-orchestrated subterfuge to throw off reporters and make the VP announcement truly a surprise?

We'll soon know.

[NOTE: The MILF jokes have already started to appear in headlines around the web.]
