Joe The Plumber Probe:
Investigation Begins in Ohio
Over State Government Snooping

Joe The Plumber Snooper Gets Paid Leave

DBKP reported before, and perhaps initially, that Helen Jones-Kelley violated both State and Federal Regulations when she ordered staff to conduct an investigative sweep of Joe The Plumber using the Child Support investigative computers. These computers have more access than any other in government, being able to review files for taxes, property records, traffic, crime, prison, drivers license, court, and on and on. The reason given is that the need is imperative and the use is non-criminal.

Hence no warrant needed.

Joe the Plumber Ohio Records: Illegal Child Support Searches Violate Laws

It now appears that despite the cover given her by the despicable and corrupt Governor Strickland, that the Attorney General--who in fact administers the Child Support collection efforts and knows the law well, or at least assigned staff who does--has put together enough of a case to commence disciplinary proceedings.

Jones-Kelley put on paid leave by governor

As the Dayton Daily News reports:
"COLUMBUS — Helen Jones-Kelley, director of the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services and former head of that department in Montgomery County, has been placed on paid administrative leave by Gov. Ted Strickland.

Charles already was investigating reports that a department computer was used to gather personal information about "Joe the Plumber" — Samuel Joseph Wurzelbacher of suburban Toledo — after Wurzelbacher emerged as a key figure in the presidential race in Ohio. The information included whether he owed child support, which he said he didn't.

He criticized Democrat Barack Obama's tax plan and endorsed Republican John McCain.

Charles is investigating whether such use of a state computer is legal. Jones-Kelley said there was nothing wrong with the check and suggested it was common practice for her department to do research on Ohioans in the news.

...

"

Michelle Malkin also reports this, Ohio government snooper put on leave for plumbing Plumber’s records.

Well, it sure took them long enough, didn’t it?

Via Dayton Daily News (which you’ll notice fails to mention that Jones-Kelley is a max contributor to Obama’s campaign)

An Ohio Highway Patrol trooper was stationed at the end of Jones-Kelley's driveway in Clayton on Friday night. He declined to allow a reporter to approach Jones-Kelley's home.

Strickland, a Democrat, has said that so far he had received no information to suggest that any state employee either accessed or disclosed information in an inappropriate or improper way."

Sure.

That is why the entire country knows that Joe the Plumber does not owe Child Support, etc.

The TRUTH is this: Strickland did not ask Charles to investigate. Charles did so on his own after being informed by his staff that such information such as the child support and court status of Joe the Plumber, as was leaked to the media, had to involve the illegal usage of a Ohio State Child Support Investigative computer.

A simple check matching the security entry codes (issued to each child support investigator) with a search relative to Joe the Plumber quickly revealed the investigator who accessed his files, all files by the way. A security review of the investigator, usually conducted by Bureau head, quickly produced the fact ther investigator was ordered to do the review by Helen Jones-Kelley under the fallacious excuse that Joe had requested information on his file.

It was also revealed that the investigator had no idea who Samuel "Joe the Plumber" Joseph Wurzelbacher was. The given name was unfamiliar to her. Even though Jones-Kelley is not entitled to the information as she is not in the need-to-know loop, it is likely the investigator thought she was merely passing on good news to someone.

Ms Jones-Kelley must be fired. As a law enforcement official, she has totally compromised her position and the trust of the public. She should be charged with both State and Federal crimes. (of course, we all know that Bush only prosecutes Republicans)

As for Strickland, he waited until after the election because Charles was running for office. No doubt hoping it would blow over if Charles lost.

Unfortunately for Strickland, Charles did not let go.

As for that guard at the door, he is there to make sure the press do not learn it was Governor Strickland who asked Helen Jones-Kelley to commence the computer sweep.

That is my guess.

Obama Tax Plan: We Are Going to Spread Wealth Around

Obama Explains Tax Plan to Ohio Plumber
Obama: "Spread the Wealth Around"

Smells Like Socialism

I’ve never been a big fan of Penn & Teller, but today, I have to say I’m a fan of a new video released today that includes their commentary on Barack Obama’s socialist plans to turn the United States into a Marxist wasteland.

[Note: The original Penn & Teller version has been pulled for some reason; therefore, I substituted another video showing Obama explaining away his tax play.]

Incredibly, the video captures the Democratic Party presidential nominee using the words "spread the wealth around" during his response to a question asked by Joe Wurzelbacher of Toledo, Ohio. The 34-year-old plumber asked Obama, point blank, "Your new tax plan's going to tax me more, isn't it?"

If this doesn't scare you, nothing will: Higher taxes, wealth redistribution and a socialist airhead in the White House.

Barack Obama: The Strong-Arm Tactics of Team Obama

Your Ad Here

The Obama Truth Squad
7000+ Democrat Lawyers Ready

A legion of lawyers, attempts to strong-arm TV stations and opponents running accurate--though unpleasant--advertisements and mobilizing Missouri prosecutors and sheriffs to intimidate opponents: all disturbing pages from the Obama campaign playbook.

A few disturbing notes about the 'Progressive' candidate, Barack Obama and his campaign's methods.

* Obama Campaign tries to Strong-Arm TV Stations over Accurate Ads

The American Issues Project has been running an ad asking a reasonable question: "How Much do you know about Barack Obama?" Everything but the question is sourced--in the ad itself.

Yet, Barack Obama's campaign has mobilized Democrat sheriffs and prosecutors in the state of Missouri--including the St. Louis County Prosecutor Bob McCullough and City of St. Louis Circuit Attorney Jennifer Joyce--to try and shut down the advertisement through intimidation.

Missouri Democrat sheriffs and prosecutors are planning to file charges against anyone they feel makes a false statement against Obama during the campaign.

"Do You Know Enough to Elect Barack Obama?"

Who's next? There is nothing in the above video that hasn't been covered by political blogs and websites, including DBKP.

* Obama, Domestic Terrorist Bill Ayers: The ‘Tangential’ Bill Ayers
* Obama’s Ties to 1970’s Domestic Terrorist Bill Ayers: Disassociation and Little Condemnation

Bill Ayers in 2001.

"I wish someone would ask [Obama] just once: "Then tell me, would it be ok for a child who was eight years old on 9/11--to then have a friendship with Osama bin Laden later in life as an adult"?
--comment at Free Republic on Obama's friendship with Bill Ayers

Of course, any discussion of Barack Obama and Bill Ayers in the Big Media predictably runs along the lines of the apologetic--if at all.

American Issues Project released this statement:

Barack Obama is now using local law enforcement officials to carry out his campaign of legal intimidation by assembling a group of high-ranking Missouri police officials and prosecutors - including St. Louis County Prosecutor Bob McCullough and City of St. Louis Circuit Attorney Jennifer Joyce - to identify and target anyone the campaign determines is producing “misleading” political advertisements.

“This is an outrageous and shocking attempt by the Obama campaign to again employ Stalinist, police state tactics against those who dare to disagree with Barack Obama,” said Ed Martin, American Issues Projects president. “I am frankly stunned to see public officials like McCullough and Joyce abusing their official prosecutorial positions to serve as attack dogs for a national political campaign. I am quite certain Missourians elected these individuals to enforce the laws and arrest criminals, not to throw people in jail for daring to practicing free speech.
“The Obama campaign continues to provide a chilling preview of what would happen to political freedom in an Obama administration.”

This new effort is only the most recent attempt by the Obama campaign to crack down on free speech. Obama’s lawyers twice demanded the Department of Justice investigate and prosecute the American Issues Project, its officers, board of directors, and donors. The campaign also threatened stations running American Issues Project’s ad in an unsuccessful attempt to compel them to pull the spot, and ran its own ad in response.

Michelle Malkin wrote about Obama's In Your Face tactics and how Team Obama Chicago-fies its tactics:

*Stepping up sleazy ads. The latest one twisted the words of radio talk giant Rush Limbaugh in a laughable attempt to paint John McCain as an immigration hardliner and stir fear among Hispanic voters;

*Doubling down on the race card. Kansas Gov. Kathleen Sebelius shamelessly baited supporters with this line: “Have any of you noticed that Barack Obama is part African-American? (Republicans) are not going to go lightly into the darkness;”

*And suppressing dissent. Rebuffed by the Justice Department in their efforts to prosecute conservatives for running ads critical of Obama’s ties to Weather Underground terrorist Bill Ayers, the campaign is using an army of supporters to mob radio and television stations daring to air investigations of the relationship. The foot soldiers receive their marching orders through “Obama Action Wires” and bombard critics with disruptive phone calls.

Meanwhile, the Left’s Sarah Palin hatred has been encouraged by the in-your-face comments of Michelle Obama, who derided the Alaska governor’s intellect (”What you learn about Barack from his choice is that he’s not afraid of smart people”) and looks (don’t cast a vote because “she’s cute”) on the campaign trail.

There's more, such as the Obama campaign "fact-checking" an NRA ad using the Washington Post--the same Washington Post that 'debunked' its own story about former Fannie Mae CEO Franklin Raines taking "questions on housing policy" from Obama.

* Voters Vote, Lawyers Decide

"And in this extremely close race for the White House, there are at least 7,000 volunteer lawyers ready to deploy to key states, armed with injunctions covering issues great and small. And that's just the Democrats."
--It's Near the Campaign's End -- Send in the Lawyers

More than 30 election suits are pending in states including Ohio, Georgia, Texas and Florida, according to the Moritz College of Law at Ohio State University. Dozens more have been settled or dismissed.

...

Obama general counsel Bob Bauer sent a mass e-mailing last month to supporters, seeking volunteer attorneys and law students. "We can't afford to let our guard down. The stakes could not be higher. This election has to be different," he wrote.

The Obama Voter Protection Program is working closely with the Democratic Party, which earlier said it's spent three years amassing some 7,000 lawyers. Early last month, attorneys began deploying. Like the McCain campaign, the Democrats promise to have legal counsel in all 50 states.

* Ohio Braces for Legal Onslaught

Ohio election officials are so concerned, they called a meeting to try and head off the expected legal deluge.

State officials are so concerned about the outlook for a blizzard of lawsuits is that they met last month with what the AP referred to as "more than 75 legal experts" to discuss the matter. Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner and Attorney General Nancy Rogers attempted to convince those at the meeting not to file lawsuits that would hamper, rather than help, the election process.

And for Democrats, it will not be possible this year to claim, as was the case in 2004, that the secretary of state is manipulating an election against them. In 2004, that post was held by a Republican. This year it is occupied by Brunner, a Democrat.

As Dick the Butcher said in Shakespeare's Henry VI:

"The first thing we do, let's kill all the lawyers."

Written approximately 420 years ago, it's a thought which has crossed the mind of more than one person since.

Coroner's Investigator Charged with Living It Up on Dead Man's Credit Card

Bad Luck Seems to Follow Some People

Talk about bad luck: David Workman has had it in spades lately.

A former investigator for the Jefferson County (OH) Coroner's Office, Workman was arrested on June 20, after he stole a credit card.

From a dead man at the county morgue.

He might have gotten away with it IF he hadn't tried using the dead man's card to pay for over $400 of services at a strip club in Weirton, WV.

Apparently, the staff at the strip club knew Workman so well, that they knew his first name and became suspicious when he presented the card and signed the dead man's name to pay his bill.

After Workman's July 2 appearance in Hancock County (WV) Magistrate Court, Workman shook his head and called the charges a "bum rap." Caught on video tape after his arrest, Workman was reported saying that the theft of the credit card was "not intentional," and called his use of the dead man's credit card, "purely an accident".

He did not respond to a reporter's question about whether signing the dead man's name to the bill was an accident.

Workman was fired after his arrest in June, after being employed by the coroner's office for seven years.

This is a lot of bad luck.

But wait--there's more.

While awaiting trial on the credit card charges, Workman was arrested on August 20, in Steubenville OH, in a prostitution sting that resulted in 10 people arrested for soliciting.

No reports on how Workman attempted to pay the undercover officer posing as a prostitute.

Workman was then scheduled to appear in the Steubenville Municipal Court on the prostitution charges the next day in Steubenville, but he was also scheduled to appear in a Hancock County court the same day to stand trial for the credit card charges.

No reports at this time on how the scheduling conflict was worked out.

Several years ago, Workman was involved in another incident.

According to police reports, in September 2005, a driver called Saline Township (OH) police claiming Workman impersonated a police officer. The complaint accused Workman of using a flashing light on his car to pull a vehicle over on County Road 50. Workman was accused of approaching the driver with a gun and his coroner’s badge.

Workman was never charged in that case.

And some people complain that their lives are "boring".
